Initially the focus is on giving short 'Career Insight' talks and 'Enterprise' talks' in state secondary schools and further education colleges. In the second phase, the menu will be expanded to cover a range of activities such as mentoring, reading and number support and work experience.
Through Inspiring the Future, employers and their staff can volunteer in schools and colleges at no cost. Volunteers and schools are connected and communicate directly with each other through this simple, secure website.
There is huge demand from young people to meet people doing a range of jobs, and have the opportunity to ask them about what they do and the route they took to get to it. Schools and colleges are acutely aware of this, and very keen to invite people from apprentices to CEOs to talk to their pupils. A one-hour session is a small ask, but it makes a big difference.
Through Inspiring the Future you can help students to make informed choices about their next steps, grounding their plans in the realistic context of the needs of today's employers and the opportunities available.
