There are so many possibilities for this building and the council should be planning long term and encouraging development of these buildings and others, like the Regent Cinema, that is also being allowed to deteriorate as its Art Deco interiors are in danger of being lost forever.

Both of these iconic buildings could also be utilised by educational and research establishments and even turned into satellites for the Lancashire college's that offer Performing Arts and Media courses. There are so many possibilities aside from the money that would be wasted by demolishing.

A public meeting is being help to campaign against this decision on the 14th January at Nellie Deans on the promenade opposite the Metropole Hotel at 6.30pm. For more details vist the campaign page on facebook
